LIVE: 'Hydraulic fluid spill' closes Milton Keynes road and roundabout

A hydraulic fluid spill has closed a section of the A5 in Milton Keynes this evening.

Emergency services are currently at the Kelly's Kitchen roundabout (McDonald's Roundabout) on the A5 south of Bletchley.

A road closure is in place on the A5 southbound between the Caldecotte Roundabout at the Bletcham Way junction and the Little Brickhill turning south of the Kelly's Kitchen Roundabout.

Police say traffic is currently not able to "travel south from the roundabout".

UPDATE 07:00 25/08: The road has now re-opened.

UPDATE 22:40 24/08: The road remains closed at this time.

UPDATE 19:25 24/08: A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "We understand that this is causing traffic to build up in Milton Keynes and we are working with Highways England to get this resolved."

The closure is likely to be in place for a number of hours for road repairs.

This is a live news story and we will bring you further updates as we get them.
