Lidl submits planning application for an even bigger replacement store in Milton Keynes

Lidl has announced plans to redevelop its store on Oldbrook Boulevard and has launched an online public consultation to engage with the local community.

The public is invited to comment on the proposals via a dedicated website where all the plans and reports supporting the planning application can be found. To access the public consultation online residents can go to www.oldbrook.lidl.co.uk to take part.

The multi-million pound investment, will see Lidl commit to building a new replacement store with a 1,438m² sales area on a 2,230m² site, with plans to provide wider aisles, an attractive modern layout, in-store bakery and customer toilets as well as 128 free car parking spaces for customers, including 8 disabled spaces and 9 parent & child spaces. There will also be 2 rapid electric charging bays. 10 cycle stands are also proposed close to the entrance, providing storage space for 20 bikes.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Jason Buckley, commented: “We are committed to working with both the Council and local residents to deliver an attractive new store in Oldbrook, which will allow for a larger, more modern store and enhanced shopping experience, whilst providing customers the full range of quality Lidl products at unbeatable prices.”

“Our plans are set to create around 20 additional positions, whilst retaining all previous colleagues, which would be fantastic for the local community, and we hope that as many people as possible are able to join us for this 'virtual' public consultation. We look forward to sharing and discussing our plans with everyone.”

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s £1.45bn investment in its expansion across Great Britain in 2019 and 2020.
