Feedback window for local sports closes on Sunday.
Sports clubs, associations and anyone involved in delivering sport, have been called upon by Milton Keynes City Council to share their thoughts on its Sports Strategy for 2025–2030, which sets out how clubs can be better supported to be more inclusive, accessible and sustainable for residents.
The city council hosted two ‘Talk About Sports’ events in April where around 100 representatives from local sports clubs, town and parish councils, leisure centres and other governing bodies discussed the future of local sport from grassroots access to how future athletes can be supported in their journeys.
Their feedback will join any that’s emailed to leisure&communities@milton-keynes.gov.uk before Sunday, 4th May in shaping the draft strategy, which will then be shared with sports clubs and other local representatives before being published.
“It’s brilliant to see so many people who care about sport in our city step forward to shape the debate,” said Cllr Mick Legg, Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services.
“We had some great conversations, and this input will help us set out strategy that not only supports our clubs but also helps to inspire the next generation.
“As a keen runner and golfer, I’ve seen how being involved in organised sport can keep people healthy and provide the opportunity to meet new people. Whether you play for fun, for fitness, or for glory, we want this strategy to work for everyone.”
