Local charity, Willen Hospice are offering £10 off the entry fee for their Midnight and Midday Moo fundraising events until Sunday 31 March.
The Midday Moo, sponsored by Marshall, takes place on Saturday 18 May. This is a fun and sociable event, seeing participants walk 5 or 10 miles around Milton Keynes during the day. Everyone taking part will get a free drink at the Talbot Inn, and the chance to take in the beauty spots and green spaces of MK on their way round. Children over 12 and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join as long as they can cover the distance or have a pushchair to rest in.
Willen Hospice’s most well-known event, the Midnight Moo, celebrates it’s 15th anniversary this year. Sponsored by Specsavers, the 5 or 10 mile night-time walk takes place on Friday 12 July at 10pm from Midsummer Place in Central MK. The night-time fundraiser sees local people embark on a 5 or 10 mile route through Milton Keynes.
To celebrate Milton Keynes’ unofficial mascot, and the charity’s official mascot, Flo the Cow, the theme for both events is cow print! Entry for both also includes a 2024 Moo t-shirt and medal.
Oli Hiscoe, Willen Hospice Associate Director of Income Generation, said, “Most people who take part in our Moo events come back again and again, and that’s because it’s such a well organised, and fun event with a great atmosphere. I encourage anyone who hasn’t experienced it before to sign up, as it’s amazing seeing 1,200 people lit up and walking through the night. Both events are open to everyone and it really is one of my favourite events in the Willen Hospice fundraising calendar, plus it’s all for a great cause.”
The charity is encouraging everyone taking part to try and fundraise £100 each to help fund the Hospice’s specialist, compassionate care.
