Lane closed on M1 northbound after accident occurs near Milton Keynes

The hard shoulder and lane one are closed on the M1 northbound between junction 12 (Flitwick) and junction 13 (Milton Keynes) following an accident.

The accident was first reported at around 4:30pm earlier this evening (17/07).

At this time, it is unknown if anyone was injured as a result of this incident.

Congestion is to be expected within the local area. The buildup of traffic is more than likely to result in around 10-15 minutes of delays.

Highways England estimate that normal traffic conditions will return anytime between 19:00 and 19:15 this evening.

20:00 UPDATE: Traffic in the area is reported to have returned to normal.
