Ladbrokes store in Shenley Church End robbed

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery at the bookmakers yesterday.

At around 8.48pm yesterday (21/11) two men entered Ladbrokes in Benbow Court, Shenley Church End.

One of the men remained at the door while the other ran up to the counter and pushed a plastic carrier bag under the glass screen and demanded money from a member of staff. While the demands were being made, the offender near the door pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the cashier.

The cashier ran out of the back of the store and the offenders then left empty-handed. No customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.

The offenders were both approximately 6ft; they were dressed in blue paper scene suits and bright yellow gloves. Both had their hoods up and scarves across their faces.

Det Sgt Luke Grove, from Milton Keynes Force CID, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around the time of the offence or anyone with information which could assist our investigation.

“A team of detectives is working to establish the circumstances and to identify and locate the offenders. High visibility patrols are taking place in the area and anyone with any concerns or information can approach and speak to an officer.

“I would also be interested to hear from anyone who may have found any blue paper scene suits or yellow gloves discarded locally which may also be significant.”

Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Milton Keynes Force CID via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.

If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
