Labour Leader Keir Starmer to visit Starship robots in Milton Keynes today

Labour Leader Keir Starmer is visiting Milton Keynes alongside Shadow Minister for Science Chi Onwurah this morning (23/7).

It has been reported that they are making the visit to meet staff from Starship Technologies - the company behind the small delivery robots that have taken Milton Keynes by storm.

Since lockdown began, the demand for Starship deliveries has surged with the Co-Op reporting that they have seen the number of customers using the service more than double since March.

Milton Keynes is now home to the 'worlds largest autonomous robot fleet', according to Starship.

A Labour party spokesman said: "Labour Leader Keir Starmer and Chi Onwurah, Shadow Minister for Science, Research and Digital will visit Milton Keynes today (Thursday) to meet with staff from a technology company and discuss technological innovation in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
