Initiative launched to get weapons off streets.
A new knife amnesty bin has been set up at a Milton Keynes community centre with the aim of getting blades and other offensive objects off local streets.
The bin, at Conniburrow Community Centre, has been set up by the Safer MK group and Great Linford Parish Council in partnership with the Great Linford Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The initiative allows anyone to safely and anonymously dispose of knives and sharp objects, 24 hours a day, with no questions asked.
“Our goal is simple: get weapons off the streets, reduce violence, and make our community safer for everyone,” said a police spokesperson.
“Every item surrendered is one less risk to our residents. Let’s work together to protect Milton Keynes.”
