July 2025 News from Camphill Milton Keynes!

Welcome to Camphill MK's newsletter. As ever, they have been busy bees and can boast a whole host of activities. If you've missed the latest on social media, here's what they've been up to last month.

    Milton Keynes Disability Awareness Day

We had a fantastic day celebrating Milton Keynes Disability Awareness Day (MKDAD) on Monday 14th July.

It was a joyful, inclusive, and unforgettable day for everyone involved. The atmosphere was terrific – we listened to music, did some boxing practice, and enjoyed a lovely picnic. The weather was kind to us, too; warm but not too hot, just perfect for spending time outdoors.
But what really made the day special was the silent disco – it was truly one of a kind! Not only was it held in a unique and symbolic location (MK Rose), but it also brought people together from outside our community. Even the
Mayor of MK, James Lancaster, joined in and danced with us!

Organisers planned numerous FREE activities to entertain everyone at various Milton Keynes locations, including The MK Rose and the MK Gallery.

    Numerous events included:

Thanks to everyone who joined in. It was a wonderful day!

Abseil for Camphill MK with the Mayor of Milton Keynes!

Join us in high places 😉 with the Mayor of MK, Cllr James Lancaster, for a charity abseil for Camphill MK on Saturday, 13th September.

We seek brave souls to take on the challenge and raise much-needed funds for our charity. You could have the unique opportunity to abseil 400ft down the National Lift Tower in Northampton.

    Newport Pagnell Carnival

Every year, we get very excited about the Newport Pagnell Carnival – the biggest and longest-running carnival in the MK area.

Our Craft Workshop has been working very hard on the costumes for the carnival again this year. The theme for 2025 is Carnival Tells a Story, and our team has thoughtfully selected several fairy tales to explore. The day was fantastic! With a great turnout in the community, and we collected £231.67. We also won 1st place in the Best Overall Interpretation of the Theme for our float! Which was amazing recognition for all the hard work.
