Specialist neurological care provider PJ Care are celebrating once again as they are accredited Platinum by the Gold Standards Framework.
Coming hot on the heels of their platinum accreditation from Investors in People, this latest award demonstrates the company’s dedication to exceptional care as well as their staff.
The Gold standards framework is a nationally recognised organisation who provide training and are responsible for assessing registered care providers in end of life care.
The award, which recognises the very high standard of care and compassion for residents and their relatives as an emotionally difficult time was given to the company’s Bluebirds care centre, the first centre opened by the company in 2001.
A delighted Micheala Beaney; Unit Manager of Bluebirds commented: “I am so happy and I know the whole team will be so proud. It’s a fitting reflection on all the great work they all do daily, not only during end of life care but for all our residents.” She continued; “Gold Standards Framework enables providers to deliver a “gold” standard of care to those nearing the end of their lives. It reduces hospitalisation and focuses on the coordination of care for the right people at the right time.”

Bluebirds have demonstrated that they have sustained an exceptionally high standard of end of life care over many years. Neil added: “Bluebirds actually scored an outstanding across every area of the assessment with the highest level of excellent achieved in all domains. We are all so proud of the team!”
The Gold Standards Framework assessors were so impressed with the care provided by PJ Care and specifically Bluebirds care centre, they have been nominated for the GSF “Care home of the year” award. PJ Care have also this year been awarded “Best specialist care provider” and “Best care home group” at the prestigious National Care Homes Awards.
