Young people in Milton Keynes are being encouraged to enter a competition to step in the shoes of some the city’s key decision-makers as part of Takeover Day this November.
Whether it’s being the Mayor, a local MP, heading up the city’s law enforcement team, or taking over from of one of the Council’s most senior managers, Takeover Day will take place on Friday 16th November.
The Takeover Challenge is a national event led by the Children’s Commissioner for England and offers children and young people the chance to work with some of the most important decision-makers in their area.
This year, young people in Milton Keynes are being offered the opportunity to spend the day with either:
- The Mayor of Milton Keynes – Cllr Martin Petchey
- The Chief Police officer for MK – Superintendent Yvette Hitch
- MK Council’s Interim Chief Executive – Michael Bracey
- MP for Milton Keynes South – Iain Stewart
- Chief Executive of MK Act, Sue Burke.

All entries must be submitted by 10am on 22 October 2018, and the successful candidates will be chosen by the Mayor, Director, MP and Chief Superintendent after they have carefully read all of the applications.
