intu Milton Keynes confirms plans to reopen for non-essential retail in two months

One of Milton Keynes' major shopping centres, intu, has confirmed its plans to reopen for non-essential retail in two months' time.

As part of the Prime Minister's roadmap out of lockdown, he hopes that non-essential retail will reopen as part of stage three of his plans to ease lockdown restrictions.

This means that non-essential retail will reopen on 12th April, but only if strict conditions are met.

Following the much-anticipated announcement, intu Milton Keynes has announced that non-essential retail stores will be opening on that date, should they be allowed to.

A spokesperson for intu said: "Following yesterday’s government announcement, intu Milton Keynes plans to open for non-essential retail on Monday 12 April 2021.

"Until then, intu Milton Keynes’ strict and comprehensive cleaning regime will continue whilst we are open for essential retail, Click & Collect and takeaway food services only."

MKFM has compiled a list of essential stores that are open, eateries offering takeaway, and retail offering click and collect during lockdown. These include Barclays Bank, HSBC, Hugo Boss, Kokoro, Made in Sud, Souv-lucky Day and Starbucks.

intu's spokesperson continued: "We are thoroughly looking forward to welcoming you back in April, when the majority of the centre’s retailers and leisure facilities will be open once again."
