International midfielder, Cissé, joins MK Dons

MK Dons have delved into the European market to secure the signing of international midfielder Ousseynou Cissé.

The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Stadium MK.

Cissé, a 6ft 4in defensive-minded midfielder, spent last season with French Ligue 2 side Tours FC and has previously enjoyed stints at SC Amiens, Dijon, Rayo Vallecano and Waasland-Beveren, totalling over 160 senior appearances.

He has also represented Mali at international level.

Cissé becomes Neilson’s third signing ahead of the 2017/18 campaign, following the captures of Peter Pawlett and Conor McGrandles.

He told iFollow MK Dons: "I'm very happy and I can't wait to start playing. I had a long conversation with the manager and he really wanted me to come here, which pleased me."

Dons boss Neilson added: “I’m delighted to get him. We’ve got a good contact out in France that recommended him and we’ve watched quite a lot of him. We went over to France to have a chat and he decided he wanted to come here.

“He’ll bring physicality and strength to the middle of the pitch. He can play centre midfield, defensive midfield and left-sided centre-half as well so he gives us a lot of options.

“It will take him a little bit of time to get used to the hectic nature of British football because it’s 100 miles per hour but he’s got great physicality and a great left-foot. He’s also got great pedigree having played at good levels before in France, Spain and Belgium.”

The deal is subject to the relevant governing body clearances.
