Increase in 'unacceptable' anti-social behaviour outside Milton Keynes supermarket

There has been an increase in 'unacceptable' anti-social behaviour outside a local supermarket, say police.

Neighbourhood Policing Teams from Thames Valley Police have stated they are aware of the incidents taking place outside Lidl and Tesco on Oldbrook Boulevard.

According to officers, this anti-social behaviour consists of begging, abusive and aggressive behaviour to people, and street drinking.

A spokesperson for the force said: "This behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The neighbourhood team are working with the retail outlets and the public to deal with these issues."

It has since been reported that "several persons" have been identified by officers and will be issued with a Community Protection Warning (CPW).

There is also a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in place in this area at an attempt to deal with street drinking. This order gives police the power to confiscate alcohol, and/or issue a £100 fixed penalty notice when people are drinking alcohol and are causing or likely to cause anti-social behaviour .

Anyone who visits Lidl and Tesco and notices any anti-social behaviour should report it to Thames Valley Police via 101 or report here online.
