Hundreds of Muslims gather at Campbell Park to mark the end of Ramadan

Hundreds of Muslims from across Milton Keynes and beyond gathered at Campbell Park on Friday morning to mark the end of Ramadan.

There were a number of open air prayer sessions as part of Eid al-Fitr with assistance from The Parks Trust.

People travelled from Milton Keynes and beyond to attend the event, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief.

It means that Muslims are forbidden from eating or drinking during daylight hours throughout the month, which lasts for either 29 or 30 days each year.
