Fly-tipper dumps pile of rubbish in Milton Keynes nature reserve car park

    The Parks Trust

A Milton Keynes nature reserve car park has had to be closed off after a huge amount of rubbish was dumped on the site.

The Parks Trust is a self-financing charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland across Milton Keynes.

Stony Stratford Nature Reserve includes a varied amount of artificially created wetland habitats especially for waterfowl and waders. There is a dipping platform located on a lake within the reserve that is known locally for being home to a variety of dragonflies and damselflies.

The rubbish included doors, windows, bits of carpet along with a bunch of other materials. The fly-tipper had left it blocking access to the nature reserves' car park.

The Parks Trust has classed it as a "substantial fly tipping incident".

Due to the car park being private land, it is suggested that the charity will have to pay out for it to be cleaned. This could cost The Parks Trust around £1,000.
