Chris Curtis MP for Milton Keynes North and Councillor James Lancaster, Milton Keynes Mayor, visited Hanslope Park on Friday to see FCDO Services' work in engineering, technology and security first-hand.
The visit showcased how the organisation delivers complex solutions for UK diplomacy and national security while providing high-skilled jobs and training opportunities for the local area.
During the visit, the Mayor and MP toured the newly refurbished skills room, meeting apprentices who are developing specialist skills in engineering and technology. They learned about FCDO Services' apprenticeship programme, which has been running for over sixty years and is helping to build the next generation of technical talent in Milton Keynes.
They also visited the global logistics operation, which coordinates secure diplomatic communications worldwide, and the wood, metal, technology, digital, and innovation workshops where specialist technicians develop bespoke solutions for government operations.
FCDO Services provides operational support to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, specialising in bringing STEM innovation to diplomatic and security challenges through close collaboration with government departments, academia and international partners.
With roles spanning engineering, technology, logistics, translation and security specialists, FCDO Services offers diverse career opportunities at Hanslope Park. The organisation is actively recruiting across multiple disciplines and investing in apprenticeships, giving young people in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas the chance to build long-term, impactful careers in government service.
“National security must always be a top priority, and the work at Hanslope Park is central to that effort,” Chris said, “From engineering secure communications for allied defence programmes to responding to crises overseas, FCDO Services shows the innovation, skill, and dedication that keep Britain safe and strengthen our partnerships around the world.”
