Homeless people BLOCKED from sleeping outside Milton Keynes Station just days before Christmas

Milton Keynes Central Station has come under fire after installing large plant pots outside the Station in a location which is often frequented by rough sleepers.

The large plant pots were put in place overnight last night, according to eyewitnesses, on both sides of the station entrance.

Milton Keynes Station is often frequented by rough sleepers, both outside the station entrance where the plant pots are now situated and also around the side of the building.

West Midlands Railway, who operate the railway station, have told MKFM: "The land outside the station is council land and we are working with them to brighten up the area outside the station and engage with the local community."

"They will be planted up by local station adopters and community groups early in the new year."But despite West Midlands Railway saying that the land is owned by Milton Keynes Council and the work is being done in partnership with them, Milton Keynes Council's Media Office were unaware of the installation when we spoke to them earlier.

Milton Keynes Council have previously told MKFM that there would be a bed for every rough sleeper, and that efforts were being made to support the rough sleepers at the train station and move them into accommodation.

It is not yet known whether the plant pots will be in position permanently at the location.
