Home care company hopes to bring Milton Keynes community together with festive campaign

Local home care company, Home Instead Milton Keynes, is bringing festive joy to older people in the community this Christmas with its annual ‘Be a Santa’ gift giving campaign.

Now in its 6th year, the campaign aims to make the holiday season magical for ageing adults who are spending Christmas alone or will simply benefit from a festive ‘pick me up’. Home Instead is calling on locals to ‘Be a Santa’ and donate thoughtful gifts for those who may otherwise not receive anything.

To get involved in the festive campaign you can donate gifts to the Home Instead Milton Keynes office – Global House, Vincent Avenue, Crownhill, MK8 0AB – until Monday 4th of December. From winter warmers and toiletries to sweet treats and chocolates, any gift big or small will make a huge difference to someone’s Christmas.

The company will also be at NatWest Midsummer Arcade on the 22nd of November in festive fancy dress spreading Christmas cheer and collecting presents.

If you can’t drop off a present but still want to put a smile on someone’s face, the company has set up an Amazon wishlist for people to pick out a gift which will be delivered to the office in time for the team to wrap.

You can view the wishlist here.

The team at Home Instead Milton Keynes will be wrapping the presents with the help of MK Snap, a local company transforming the lives of adults with learning disabilities. Once wrapped the gifts will be delivered to older adults throughout the community.

Commenting on the heart-warming campaign, Business Development Manager Samantha Duffin said, “At Home Instead Milton Keynes, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of older people in our community. The ‘Be a Santa’ campaign reflects our commitment to ensuring no older adult feels alone during the holidays.”

Adding to this, Community Engagements Lead Sarah Freshwater said, “Please get involved if you can! Together we can create moments of happiness and connection. We are thrilled to see our community coming together to make this happen.”

If you know an older person who will benefit from some extra holiday joy, you can nominate them to receive a gift by emailing events.miltonkeynes@homeinstead.co.uk.
