Headteacher issues warning to parents as primary school child is followed to school in Milton Keynes

The Headteacher of Portfields Primary School in Newport Pagnell has warned parents that a student was reportedly followed to school this morning (3/7).

The school says that they have followed safeguarding procedures and the police have been in to take the pupil's witness statement.

It has also been reported that police have advised that children from the school should walk home with an adult for the rest of the term.

"Police will ensure that there are officers within the area in the morning and after school," said Sarah Folkard, the Headteacher, in a message to parents. "If you have any information relating directly to this incident, please contact the school and we will instruct you of next steps."

The message continues: "We have made the decision not to talk to the children about this as we do not want to alarm them. We would ask that over the weekend you address the concern with your child as you see fit as a parent."

The school has released an alleged description of the man in question. Portfields Primary School reports that it was a tall white male with a black beard with a larger build. He was wearing a blue Adidas long-sleeved top, black joggers and a black cap with a Nike tick.
