Hairdressers could be shut until APRIL? A Milton Keynes mobile barber gives us his views

As national reports suggests barbers, hairdressers and beauty salons will stay closed until April under Boris Johnson's plans on Monday, a Milton Keynes mobile barber and DJ gives us his views.

According to reports by The Sun, The Telegraph and the Daily Mirror, the Beauty industry may have to wait until late April to reopen and trade again, under Boris Johnson's COVID plans.

Darren Jones is a DJ by trade but recently started his own mobile barbering business last year.

Darren tells MKFM the difficulty of not being able to establish his business further:

"My events business has lost over £20,000 in income, and personally I've lost over £10k in wages.

"Just when I was building up my customer base and gaining valuable experience as a Mobile Barber, the third lockdown hit at the worst time possible.

"I even had to take a £4,000 grant to save my business from death."

Darren is an experienced club DJ and owns 1981 Events, who performs at events across the UK and Europe.

"I truly miss being able to DJ. It's been far too long. There is no greater feeling than being able to play in front of a packed dancefloor on a Saturday Night.

"It will be a while yet, but I feel like that day is coming closer."

Boris Johnson will lay out on Monday the next steps on bringing the UK out of national lockdown restrictions, as rates continue to fall as more people receive the vaccine.
