Gym becomes an outdoor bar and grill to allow it to run fitness classes on 4th July

Energie Fitness at Kiln Farm will join pubs and bars to toast the easing of lockdown by having a fully licensed cocktail bar and a gourmet burger bar on site this Saturday.

The gym will be running a full programme of fitness classes for members but they will also be able to raise a glass and enjoy a burger.

“We have done this in response to the government giving bars, restaurants, even weddings and museums as well as shops, the go ahead to open their doors and start trading, while the fitness industry is forced to keep its doors closed,” said Rob Francis, owner of two fitness brands in Milton Keynes, including the Kiln Farm energie Fitness gym and an outdoor Be Military Fit franchise.

Rob continues, “We’re pleased for other businesses that they can reopen their doors and start the long journey back to recovery. But it’s ridiculous that the fitness industry, the very people who hold one of the keys to protecting people from the worst effects of the Covid 19 virus, are still being kept closed."

He adds, “We have spent the last three months preparing our sites, changing our systems and protocols and training our teams to ensure that we can deliver the safest experience possible to protect members and staff alike. In the gym environment  we can control and influence behaviour  to ensure that we keep the required safe distancing, the highest hygiene standards and that everyone enjoys the health benefits of exercise."

This Saturday energie Fitness in Kiln Farm are offering a Pro Cocktails bar and mixologists team, as well as Bare Grills gourmet burgers and their qualified instructors will be running a full timetable of classes from 11am to 5pm.

Rob, an ex-elite soldier, and his partner Claire will be there all day and they say, “The new health and safety protocols will be the same as when the gym is opened officially. We will have a strict booking system and ask members to ensure that they are feeling 100% well before attending. Our movement around the space will be controlled and clearly marked out to make sure  that members don’t get too close to one another. We will have additional hand cleaning stations with anti bacterial gel and wipes that we will encourage members to use before and after using kit and equipment. Our dedicated team will also be carrying out even more stringent cleaning throughout the day and will be on hand to answer any questions members may have and to help ensure that they fully adopt our safe training practices.”

Rob continues, “We want to keep up the fun, rocking atmosphere that we are well known for in Milton Keynes,. At the same time we take our responsibility to our members and team very seriously."

If you would like to book a place one of the free classes on offer you will need to move fast as there a limited number of spaces, to ensure that the gym complies with regulations on numbers and safe distancing.

Claire adds, “Even if you don’t want to take part in a class this will be an amazing opportunity to try some fantastic drinks and food provided by local businesses, a chance to meet our team, see the club and get the energie vibe!”
