Guitar legend confirmed for Milton Keynes festival

    Former Banshees star goes solo at National Bowl.

    Legendary guitarist and original member of Siouxsie and the Banshees, John McKay, will be appearing at Forever Now Festival in Milton Keynes this summer in of one his first solo performances.

    A key figure in post-punk history, John was the sonic dynamo and composer behind much of Siouxsie & the Banshees early music and hit singles. He is cited as an influence on many of the great guitarists of the past few decades including Jim Reid of The Jesus and Mary Chain and Johnny Marr, both of whom will share the bill with him at Forever Now.

    Fresh from the release of his new album ‘Sixes and Sevens’, John now returns to live performances with a fresh new band including Jen Brown (The Priscillas) on vocals, Jola (Adam & The Ants, The Priscillas) on drums, and Billy King on bass.

    He joins a line-up dripping with generational talent, from electronic innovators Kraftwerk to punk icon Billy Idol and alt-rock legends The The, Death Cult, Johnny Marr, The Psychedelic Furs and The Jesus & Mary Chain.

    Forever Now will feature a packed programme of music with two stages starting from 1pm and finishing at 10.30pm. Fans can also enjoy literary stalls, food and ‘The Echo Chamber’, a Q&A stage hosted by punk rock journalists John Robb and Eugene Butcher, who will delve into the culture with artists from the line-up.
