New data revealing which UK councils are reporting the most failures during underage test purchase operations for illegal vape sales makes grim reading in the new city.
The data, from Vape Superstore shows that Milton Keynes Council takes the top spot for the most underage test purchase failures in 2024/25, at 100%.
It shares the disappointing top spot with five other councils who also had a 100% failure rate.
“Our research shows that there is a clear issue with minors being sold vaping products in some areas of the UK," said David Phillips, from Vape Superstore, "This is incredibly concerning and completely undermines the significant effort that most retailers take to protect young people from vaping prematurely.
“As an industry, we have a responsibility to uphold the highest standards and protecting minors must be a non-negotiable priority. We fully support stronger enforcement against those who fail to comply with the age-restricted laws on vaping products.
"Preventing underage access to vapes is essential to maintaining trust, as regulated vaping is a harm-reduction and a successful quit-smoking tool.”
