Greggs will be reopening two stores in Milton Keynes this week

Greggs is set to reopen 800 stores across the country this week- including two in Milton Keynes.

The stores at Silbury Boulevard in the centre:mk and in Phonix House by Milton Keynes Central will be reopening on Thursday (18/6).

There will be safety measures in place including perspex screens and markings to ensure customers are social distancing. Greggs will not be accepting cash payments and its product range will be limited to its best sellers.

The Newcastle-based chain is expecting the new social distancing measures to impact its sales. "Our capacity to operate will be restricted by size of shop and we must anticipate that sales may be lower than normal for some time," Greggs said in a statement.

Bosses are planning to reopen the remainder of Greggs stores in July.
