Full bloom success for Milton Keynes town

Stony Stratford in Bloom has used its petal power to secure Gold in the regional Britain in Bloom competition.

In a second stem of success, York House Community Garden was assessed as Outstanding, along with the North End Pond and Wildlife Area.

There were further celebrations with the news that Galley Hill Community Gardening Group and The Rowans Gardening Group were assessed as thriving, and the Regional Award for Sustainable Gardening also went to York House Community Gardens.

“This is our 12th Gold Award since we started entering the Regional Britain in Bloom Competition in 2008 - but we never take Gold for granted, and have to work very, very hard to get it. We're thrilled to bits,” chairperson Judy Deveson told MKFM, “We know we have so much support in the town, which does wonders for our morale!

“Fingers crossed for the National Finals result on October 31.”
