Former Willis Flower store to be taken over by Milton Keynes business

Business will soon be blooming once more at the former Willis Flowers premises in Stony Stratford, but it won't be petals and stems attracting shoppers in the future.

Instead, a name already familiar to the town is stepping into the store.

Essentials currently trades in Cofferidge Close, where it has been a High Street fixture for the past 16 years.

The shop offers everything from household furnishings to electricals, but planned construction work there will mean a pause in trading for Essentials, which has instead opted to move to the new premises a few doors down.

Director Shammi - who runs the family business with his wife and son - says the news has been greeted positively by the community.

"Sixteen years is a long time to be in the town, and I have had lots of Facebook messages from people saying they are pleased we are staying here," he told MKFM.

Essentials is expected to open at its new home in mid-March.
