Five of the forgotten diners and fast food chains we miss the most from Milton Keynes

We thought it was time to take a look back at some of the Milton Keynes diners of the past.

There really has been some incredible diners and fast-food places in our city over the past 50 years, and this list will definitely take you straight back to your childhood!

    1. Wimpy

This one was possibly our favourite diner - Wimpy was a massive name in Milton Keynes and in Bletchley too.

Whether you fancied a 'Wimpy Brunch' or the traditional quarter pounder with cheese, fast food really didn't get much better than this.

And who could forget the Wimpy Birthday Parties - quite possibly the coolest around - with the occasional appearance of Mr Wimpy himself.

    2. Little Chef

Another name which was massive back in the day, you could always guarantee a decent fry-up at Little Chef with their Olympic Breakfast.

There was a couple dotted around Milton Keynes, including at both ends of the A5 near Bletchley and Old Stratford.

And if you didn't fancy an Olympic Breakfast, then the pancakes or burgers were an incredible alternative.

    3. Deep Pan

One of the biggest names at The Point in Milton Keynes, Deep Pan was the place to go if you fancied a tasty pizza.

There were loads all over the country, but the rise of 'thin crust' pizza was eventually blamed for their demise.

And who could forget the 'all you can eat' offer - we can't be the only ones who may have overdone it a few times...

    4. Midsummer Diner

If you took a trip over to Kingston as a kid, there was every chance you would have ended up at Midsummer Diner.

The amazing American burgers and mayo, and the ice creams were out of this world too.

    5. Fatty Arbuckle's

The Food Centre was a different place back in the day, and one of the best things to do was to head to Fatty Arbuckle's.

Steaks and burgers were all the rage - and who remembers Fatty's Challenge? Eat everything on your plate and win a T-shirt!
