Five new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes for Saturday as case rate hits new low for this year

    Just five new cases of coronavirus were reported in Milton Keynes today.

    It brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 20,069 - of which 47 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate, or infection rate, has fallen from 23.4 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 18.9 cases per 100,000 people today.

    This is below the national average which stands at 24.8 cases per 100,000 people.

    Nationally, there was an additional 2,061 people tested positive today, with 32 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    None of these deaths took place in Milton Keynes, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll still stands at 463 since the start of the pandemic.
