Five new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes as case rate rises above national average

    Five new coronavirus cases have been reported in Milton Keynes today as the case rate rises above the national average.

    It brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 20,238 - of which 62 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes has increased from 23.0 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 25.6 cases per 100,000 people today.

    This is now higher than the national average of 23.8 cases per 100,000 people.

    Nationally, there was an additional 1,926 people tested positive today, with 4 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    These deaths did not take place in Milton Keynes, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll still stands at 463 since the start of the pandemic.

    Meanwhile, 36,573,354 people have now had a first dose of the vaccine and 20,103,658 have been given a second dose across the country.
