A new bakery opening its doors in Newport Pagnell this weekend will be the first vegan patisserie in Milton Keynes.
Vatisserie – located in Union Street – will stock a range of freshly cooked croissants, cakes, tarts, brownies and cookies. The store will also offer a small seating area for patrons.
Husband and wife team Mandy and Jas Samra are the brains behind the new launch.
Previously, Mandy ran her bakery business from home, selling at local markets and creating tasty treats for individual customers.
“It's about offering choice and being able to offer people the opportunity to make kinder decisions,” she told MKFM, “It's not about exclusion – everyone is welcome, and many of the people who have eaten my products previously couldn't tell they were vegan. I also sell to many people who are dairy intolerant – there is a big need for that.
“I try hard to replicate all of the real flavours that people love and expect.”
Vatisserie will open its doors at 10am on Saturday, with special offers throughout the day.
