First speakeasy event in Milton Keynes to launch next week

The Speakeasy has been making its comeback in the coolest cities in the world and now, we will have one right here in Milton Keynes.

The Marcu family, owners of the stunning Kobe Steakhouse & Cocktail Lounge, are always ahead of the curve when it comes to bringing a taste of sophistication to the Milton Keynes food scene.

Razvan Marcu says “As a foodie family we dine out in London a great deal for research purposes and noticed just a few months ago that Speakeasies were making a huge comeback with chic Londoners. We wanted to bring a bit of that to the people of Milton Keynes and feel that our restaurant has an opulent sultry feel to it that would lend itself so well to hosting a regular Speakeasy event.”

The first event kicks off with The Fabulous Tooley Brothers, a duo made up of Geoff J. Tooley, singer and bassist, and Mike Kemp on piano. The duo is inspired by the New York jazz scene and will be playing from the Great American Playbook. Guests can expect a marvelous medley of Michael Bublé, Fred Astaire, Nat King Cole, Chet Baker, and Tony Bennett.

“What can be better than visiting Kobe for some superb steaks, classic cocktails, and listening to some live jazz? We hope that this will be a popular weekly event that will appeal to lovers of the genre and that will also provide a unique, lovely atmosphere for couples for date nights.” Razvan concludes.
