Two appliances and crews from West Ashland attended the property, in Victoria Road.
When thery arrived, smoke was issuing from a first-floor window of a two-storey house. They forced entry into the property and located a small fire in the kitchen.
Crews used two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, breaking in equipment, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imaging camera.
