Firefighters tackle blaze in derelict Milton Keynes building

    Fire crews were called to a blaze in a derelict building early this motning.

    Five fighters were called to a derelict building on Surrey Road, Bletchley, in the early hours of this morning (1/9).

    At around 12:23 am, crews attending the two-storey, derelict, industrial unit blaze which they say was well alight when they arrived.

    Five appliances and crews and two officers attended at the height of the fire.

    Crews attended from West Ashland, Broughton, Newport Pagnell and Buckingham.

    A spokesperson for Bucks Fire and Rescue said: "The roof, first and ground floors of the building were all 50 per cent affected by fire, and 100 per cent damaged by smoke and heat."

    Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue say Thames Valley Police have been notified.
