Fire service called to Milton Keynes replica firearm incident

    Lithium batteries ignite airsoft gun.

Firefighters from Milton Keynes were called yesterday after three lithium ion batteries ignited in an airsoft replica gun.

A crew from the Bucks Fire Service’s West Ashland station attended but the fire was out when they arrived at the incident, in Newton Leys.

Firefighters disconnected the batteries and made the appliance safe, and advice was provided on their safe disposal. A thermal imaging camera was used to check the temperature of the batteries.
