Fire Crews from across Bucks and Beds attended a large fire in Woburn Sands last night (15/3).

Crews were called to Paddocks Lane in Woburn Sands at around 6:08pm last night, where they worked through the night.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue say the fire was in a large pile of cut logs and wood chippings, which measured approximately 25m by 10m.

Firefighters from West Ashland, Broughton, and Bedfordshire attended where they extinguished the fire whilst working on preventing it from spreading further into the surrounding area.

The fire crews initially used two main jets and a hose reel. They set up a water shuttle, and the turntable ladder from West Ashland was used to provide a water tower.

A water carrier was mobilised to the scene, and a dam set up.

Crews used a thermal imaging camera to monitor hot spots, with crews and appliances remaining on the scene into the following morning.

Olney Fire Station shouted out their crew saying: "Last night the crew from Olney provided relief at an ongoing incident in Paddocks Lane,Woburn Sands along with Winslow, West Ashlands, High Wycombe and a water carrier from Kempston Fire Station.

"This was a large amount of garden waste alight in a field off the main road."
