Family plead with Milton Keynes community to help reunite them with their stolen dog

A devastated family have issued an appeal for the return of their little terrier Poppy, who was snatched yesterday.

The much-loved pet lives with her family on Brakes Farm in Nash, but was snatched when she went on an adventure into a neighbouring field.

“Tree work is being done close by and she had wandered through one field into the next without our knowledge,” said owner Louise Smith, “She would never ordinarily wander off – it's out of character and must have been simple curiosity,” she told MKFM.

Four-year-old Poppy was spotted being taken by two men in a silver-grey van from the Thornton road in Nash, which then travelled over the crossroads and headed towards the A421.

A Facebook post calling for her return has been shared 100s of times overnight.

“We just want her home – our other dogs are pining for her, and our children are missing her," Louise told us, "She is a huge part of our family, and will be traumatised and scared. The police have been notified and are investigating."
