Family Fun on offer at Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes this October half term

There are exciting activities and interactive tours for the whole family at Bletchley Park this October half-term, as well as plenty of wide-open space to run around and a park to play in.

With so many different areas to explore, families can go on an adventure and uncover some surprising stories.

Based on Bletchley Park’s temporary exhibition, The Art of Data, families can create their own art on Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 October.

Codebreakers used creative ways to visualise vast amounts of information, including details of enemy operations, and The Art of Data demonstrates the many ways used to visualise data today, and even the ways it can be manipulated.

Families can drop-in to free sessions where lots of craft materials will be used to create their own data illustrations.

Visitors can also add to a community artwork that will grow and develop throughout the week. There’s even a Bletchley Park puzzle to solve through mapping out clues.

On Monday 24 and Friday 28 October families can join the popular Amazing People, Amazing Machines guided tour: a fun, fast-paced, free interactive tour for all ages where visitors can discover the people and machines that helped break the Enigma cipher at Bletchley Park during WW2, and maybe take part in some top-secret war work.

Children can find out if they could have been a codebreaker, a Wren, or maybe a dispatch rider.

Local residents living within a 10-mile radius of Bletchley Park can receive 50% off admission, which then allows unlimited return visits for a year, and under 12s go free.

Visit Bletchley Park's website for more information.
