Family and friends rally as young Milton Keynes mum diagnosed with Stage 4 brain tumour

When Paige Carter began getting pressure and pain in her head, intuition told her it was more than a simple headache, and she paid a visit to her doctor’s surgery, who diagnosed migraines.

“I knew they were wrong,” the 25-year-old said, “I would wake up every morning with so much pressure in my head it could cause me to be sick or even have nose bleeds.”

Despite multiple visits to the GP, and keen to resolve the issue, Paige went for an eye test: “They found my optic nerve was swollen, and referred me to the eye clinic straight away. A couple of days later I had my appointment, and they completed tests which come back as inconclusive."

The eye clinic ordered an MRI scan, but weeks before that appointment the pain became unbearable. Paige ended up in hospital.
A CT and MRI scan showed a mass in Paige’s head, and she was blue-lighted to John Radcliffe Hospital.
More tests confirmed that Paige has a brain tumour.
A traumatic six hours in surgery followed, and earlier this month she was given the devastating news that she has a Grade 4 brain tumour.

She was told there is no cure only management of the tumour.

Paige is mum to beautiful Willow, who will celebrate her second birthday in March.

Paige’s caring nature saw her working in the children’s emergency department at MK Hospital before her world was turned upside down.
Now, friends are rallying to give back to Paige; her friend Lindsay Smith has set up a GoFundMe.
In the three days since the fundraiser was launched, more than 600 people have donated, raising more than £19,000.

‘This fundraiser isn’t about fixing what can’t be fixed,’ Lindsay said, ‘It’s about giving Paige and Willow the chance to make memories, feel joy, and live fully in the precious time they have together. It’s about easing financial worries so Paige can focus on what truly matters: love, laughter, comfort, and moments that Willow will carry with her forever.
‘Thank you for holding her and Willow in your thoughts, and for helping us give them moments of light, love, and peace during an unimaginably difficult short journey.’
