'Enough is enough': MP to push for tougher response following fatal stabbing in Milton Keynes

A murder investigation has been launched in Milton Keynes following a fatal stabbing.

Yesterday (29/3), Thames Valley Police launched a murder investigation after a 21-year-old man sadly died after suffering from stab wounds.

The stabbing, which took place outside a property in The Hide, Netherfield on Monday night, is the fourth fatal stabbing in Milton Keynes in just 13 weeks.

Ben Everitt, MP for Milton Keynes North, has taken to social media today to say enough is enough.

Sharing the story, he wrote: "Enough is enough. I'm pushing the Home Office and Thames Valley Police for a much tougher response.

"If you carry a knife in Milton Keynes you should expect to be locked up."

It comes as policing in Milton Keynes has been largely discussed between the community over the last few weeks, with police numbers and stop and search orders being main topic.

A Section 60 order has been put in place in Milton Keynes following the incident, which is due to expire at 5pm today (30/3).

MKFM has reached out to the Police and Crime Commissioner, the superintendent, MK Council and the MPs to arrange on-air interviews.

Details and an announcement will be made soon.
