Enjoy fantastic February fun in the parkland of Milton Keynes

Whether you’re looking to explore local wildlife, learn new skills, or simply enjoy time outdoors, February is a great opportunity to connect with nature and your local parks.

The Parks Trust is inviting you to step outside, slow down, and discover the wonders of the city’s green spaces.

From half term adventures at Howe Park Wood to community tree planting, mindful wellbeing walks, expert-led talks, and inclusive activities across the city, there’s something for every age and interest.

You can explore the wonders of wildlife this half term at Howe Park Wood Open Mornings (Tue 17 – Thu 19 Feb), with a mammals in winter theme.

Uncover the secret lives of otters, become a nature detective by identifying tracks and trails, and enjoy lots of free nature-inspired activities.

Find a moment of calm in the buzz of half term, with a range of activities to help all ages, including a Walk and talk: Wellbeing wander for families
(Wed 18 Feb) at Howe Park Wood.

A Green Break (Wed 18 Feb) at Willen Lake is an adult-only stroll to give staff from local businesses the opportunity to enjoy a lunchbreak outdoors, and to and explore a green space close to their place of work.

There are plenty of nature-inspired events to get closer to the local landscapes too, including Community Tree Planting (Sat 14 Feb) at Trinity Church Meadow in Old Wolverton.

Discover the secrets of creating a habitat haven by making your outdoor spaces wildlife-friendly. Pick up tips from finch-favourite feeders to helping hedgehogs in your neighbourhood.

Or perhaps you 'wood' prefer to join one of The Parks Trust landscape management team to learn how the parks are care for and some of the challenges that the team face.

“Winter is a wonderful time to explore the city’s parks, and this February we’re offering plenty of ways to get outside together. From wildlife‑themed activities to gentle wellbeing walks, our events are designed to help residents rediscover nature during the colder months and enjoy quality time outdoors," said Julie Dawes, Events and Community Engagement Manager at The Parks Trust.
