Emergency services called to fire in Milton Keynes flat

Crews were called to a fire in a flat in Milton Keynes yesterday morning (23 February).

Six appliances and crews and one officer were in attendance at the height of the fire, along with South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police.

Appliances and crews from Broughton, Newport Pagnell, West Ashland and Buckingham attended the scene.

Smoke was issuing from the three-storey building when emergency service crews arrived.

The incident generated multiple calls to Thames Valley Fire Control Service.

The fire was in a first-floor flat, with smoke logging affecting communal areas.

The firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and a positive pressure ventilation fan to help clear the smoke.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue say the flat is around 10% damaged by fire and 100% damaged by smoke.
