Electoral Commission warns all Milton Keynes residents voting tomorrow to STAY HOME if they are unwell

The Electoral Commission is advising anyone who is self-isolating or feeling unwell to not go and vote in person, instead they should apply to vote by proxy before 5pm on polling day.

In a statement released on their official Twitter account, The Electoral Commission said: "If you’re unwell, or have to self-isolate, you can apply to have someone you trust to vote on your behalf.

"This is called an emergency proxy. You need to apply before 5pm on polling day."

In certain circumstances, where you have an emergency that means you can't vote in person, you can apply for an emergency proxy. This must be something that you weren't aware of before the normal proxy vote deadline.

The main exceptions for applying for an emergency proxy vote are as follows:

    • You have a medical emergency

    • You are away for work

    • You are unwell or self-isolating due to COVID-19
