MK Dons had never won away at Gillingham and finally managed to break that curse tonight.

Neither team managed to take charge of the game and it took an aggressive ball forward from Cisse to be touched on by Agard into the path of Aneke to break the deadlock. Aneke charged through on goal and struck across the keeper with his left foot.

Only 7 minutes later, Gillingham equalised. Bradley Garmston crossed the ball in for Nasseri to head in at the far post.

Dons could have felt it wasn’t their night when Callum Brittain was tripped in the penalty area in the second half but no penalty given. And then, just after the hour mark, Chuck Aneke was pulled back for what looked like a certain red card but only a yellow was given.

With 5 minutes to go and when everything looked like it wasn’t going Dons’ way, Upson managed to squeeze a ball through to George Williams who scrambled it over the line.

Despite 10 points from the last possible 12, Dan Micciche insists their feet are firmly on the ground, "I'm proud of the whole squad, our feet are firmly on the ground. I've always said, we've got a points target we're aiming for and this is just 3 more points on the way to that"

This win lifts MK Dons to 20th, 2 points outside the relegation zone with the rest of the league to play tomorrow.
