Diversity champion from Milton Keynes is presented with an MBE by King Charles

Most weeks are fulfilling for Milton Keynes-based Gamiel Yafai, who spends his time working in Diversity & Inclusion.

But last week was a particular highlight; Gamiel’s hard work was recognised when he was presented with an MBE by King Charles.

Gamiel founded the company Diversity Marketplace in 2005, and the MBE was a rather special nod to a quarter century of dedicated service, which has seen him increasing awareness and helping organisations embed DEI into their corporate objectives.

“It was the most surreal moment of my life,” Gamiel said of his meeting with Royalty, “Spending one minute and five seconds speaking with our King was the biggest honour of my life.”

And with 2026 still in its early stages and an MBE already in place, how are things looking in the coming months?

“2026 has started really well with five new clients already,” he added, “...judging three diversity awards, speaking at conferences and travel to Germany in the next few weeks.”
