Deputy Mayor opens Tesla’s new largest location in Milton Keynes

Tesla celebrated the grand opening of its Merton Drive Sales and Service location on March 2, 2024.

Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Marie Bradburn, attended with students from Glebe Farm School to officiate the ribbon-cutting ceremony in the morning.

Following the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to learn about Tesla’s full vehicle and energy lineup and book test drives for the Upgraded Model 3 and the best-selling EV of 2023 – the Model Y. There were also opportunities to receive an exclusive tour of the service workshop and participate in exciting gaming challenges for children and young people.

Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Marie Bradburn also took the opportunity to experience the Tesla Model Y, whilst the children at Glebe Farm School experienced Tesla’s Cyberquad for Kids.

The Redmoor-based site will be the company’s largest site in the region, with approximately 40,000 square feet dedicated to supporting customers in buying, test-driving, servicing, and charging their Tesla products.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Bradburn remarked, "We're thrilled to welcome Tesla's contribution to the UK's sustainable energy transition. Alongside our local efforts, I'm optimistic about the positive impact electric vehicles will bring to our city."

“I have always been a supporter of all forms of sustainable zero emissions transport in order to reduce environmental impacts. Milton Keynes is leading the way for electric vehicle infrastructure and this new site shows there is plenty of local interest in sustainable options.”

Tesla’s Area Sales and Delivery Manager for the Home Counties, Alise Greeves, commented, “We are excited to expand our investment in the UK by providing more education and access to those who live and work here in Milton Keynes. Everything we do at Tesla is in support of our mission to accelerate the UK’s transition to sustainable energy.”

Communities in Milton Keynes can expect to see further investments in the local economy and community as part of the company’s mission to accelerate the UK's transition to sustainable energy. This includes the installation of 12 new Superchargers, which will be open to all electric vehicles later this year, regardless of manufacturer, and can charge up to 250 kWh.

This opening comes just a few weeks after the arrival of Tesla’s Upgraded Model 3 in the UK, which was recently awarded the EV Powered Best Electric Family Car award. The award-winning Model Y was also crowned the most sold car worldwide for 2023. Anyone over the age of 21 can schedule a test drive on Tesla’s website.
