Cycling santas ride returns to Milton Keynes

Cycling Citizens MK to host festive ride aiming to double participation and highlight need for safer cycling routes.

Cycling Citizens MK is hosting the annual Cycling Santas event on Saturday, 13 December 2025, aiming to double last year's participation to 500 cyclists. The family-friendly ride will start at Station Square (MK9 1LA) at 10:30am, featuring free Dr Bike services from 9am, a scenic route through the city centre to Stadium MK, and complimentary MK Dons match tickets for all registered participants.

The event has been made possible through the generous support of key sponsors Santander Cycles, Decathlon, Ringway, MKFM Radio and Milton Keynes Dons FC, who are providing refreshments, discounts, prizes, support and complimentary tickets to the game against Cambridge.

Ann Shrimpton, Co-chair of Cycling Citizens MK, said: "The Cycling Santas ride is always a highlight of our year, bringing together families and cycling enthusiasts to celebrate cycling in Milton Keynes. This year, we're not just riding for festive fun – with 500 Santas on bikes, we'll certainly be highlighting the need for safe cycling infrastructure that works for everyone."

Neil Hart, CEO of Stadium MK Group, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Cycling Santas, and we hope to see hundreds of families and young people cycling from central Milton Keynes through to the Stadium on Saturday 13th December. Alongside this, we are pleased to provide complimentary match tickets to the Milton Keynes Dons v Cambridge fixture, with all proceeds from the fundraising at the Stadium going to Milton Keynes Hospital Charity to support their cancer and neo natal wards.”

The ride is suitable for all ages and cycling abilities. Participants are encouraged to dress warmly and brightly in festive attire, and to bring waterproofs in case of winter weather.

Free registration is available at www.cyclingmk.org

The event aims to demonstrate strong community support for cycling while advocating for improved urban cycling infrastructure, particularly safer routes through Milton Keynes city centre.
