Criminals in Milton Keynes are leaving knives in bushes so they can be obtained later for use in crimes

Thames Valley Police in Milton Keynes have seized four concealed knives which were left in bushes near Westcroft.

Officers say that each of the weapons were "clearly left to be readily obtainable for use in crime".

In the pictures taken by the force, one of the knives was seen covered in cloth and placed into the bushes where officers then discovered it.

Thames Valley Police say they have undertaken an extensive sweep of the Westcroft area in order to locate the knives.

It is not known whether officer have been conducting similar sweeps in other areas of Milton Keynes.

The news come as Thames Valley Police is joining police forces across the country by taking part in a national knife surrender this week.

Officers have told the public that if they see knives in bushes they should report them on 101 or at a front counter. When an officer is available they will then come and collect it.
