One coronavirus related death reported in Milton Keynes as 314 test positive

    Sadly, another coronavirus related deaths has been reported in Milton Keynes today (09/12).

    Today's data tells us that unfortunately, another coronavirus related death has been recorded in Milton Keynes Hospital.

    This sad news takes the COVID-19 death toll in Milton Keynes to 517 since the start of the pandemic.

    This is the third coronavirus related death this week, with two being recorded on Tuesday.

    The latest update also tells us that there were 314 positive coronavirus tests in Milton Keynes today, bringing the total to 45,409 since the start of the pandemic.

    Four people with the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the borough.

    All four Omicron cases have links to travel and appropriate public health action has been taken.

    It has been reported that there are also several further suspected cases are under investigation. 

    Health Secretary Sajid Javid told MPs that cases of Omicron in people without any travel history have been confirmed in the UK, meaning it is now being transmitted within the community.

    The data records the number of deaths of people who had a positive test result for COVID-19 and died within 28 days of the first positive test. 

    All coronavirus data is provided by the government and NHS, no further information is provided on age, gender or vaccination status.
