Construction of 32 affordable homes close to Milton Keynes announced

RO Land has completed the sale of its residential development site in Old Stratford to Stonewater Housing Association, one of the largest social housing providers in the UK.

RO Land secured planning permission for the delivery of 32 affordable homes, comprising 16 shared ownership and 16 affordable rent properties. Located on the edge of the village of Old Stratford, the site benefits from excellent transport links to Milton Keynes city centre.

Work on the properties is expected to begin in 2026.

The proposal includes a Biodiversity Net Gain of 72% and the gifting of around two acres to Milton Keynes Parks Trust for long-term management as a bio-diversity enhancement area, improving access to nature and preserving Old Stratford’s semi-rural setting.

“We are delighted to have completed the sale of the land in Old Stratford to Stonewater,” said Jacob Taylor, Strategic Land Director at RO Land, “Their commitment to providing safe, affordable housing will ensure the development delivers lasting value for Old Stratford and its community.

“The scheme builds on RO Land’s core objective of adding value to land by securing planning consents that unlock development potential, while also delivering genuine community benefits such as affordable homes, meaningful biodiversity and public realm enhancements.”
